Like many people in the agency, I have had sight of the numbers.

I learned that across every department, males are paid more than their female counterparts despite doing the same job.

Equivalent jobs, equivalent levels, equivalent levels of experience. Males and females are consistently not getting equivalent compensation.

I don’t know how I can help others because the data is very confidential, of course. It’s made me completely jaded.

This agency likes to say it’s all about equality, but the numbers show otherwise.

How to create change. Simple. Ask your equivalent colleagues what they earn.

Be comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Why are so so culturally secretive about our salaries?

The secrecy hides the corruption. Only by exposing it can we change it.
